Coming from the South...

Traveling along the M1 towards Pretoria, take the Carr Street off ramp. You will come to a set of traffic lights at the intersection of Carr and Quinn Street. Carry on straight into Quinn Street. You will pass Fuel Café and Kippies on your left as well as Gwigwi Mrwebi Street. At the next intersection turn left into Bree Street. At the next intersection turn right into Henry Nxumalo. You will cross over Jeppe and pass the under ground parking at No.1 Central Place on your left, this is also available for Bassline parking. Then No 10 Henry Nxumalo will be on your left. This is open air parking.

Coming from the North...

Nelson Mandela Bridge is described as the gateway into Newtown and makes access into Newtown quick and easy.

As you come over the Nelson Mandela Bridge, turn right at the first set of traffic lights into Carr Street. There is a large brown signboard pointing to Newtown at this intersection. Once in Carr Street turn left at the first set of traffic lights into Miriam Makeba Street. You will see a large signboard for Bassline parking at this intersection. Once in Miriam Makeba Street continue straight passing the parking for the Market Theatre on your right at the intersection with Gwigwi Mrwebi. The next set of traffic lights intersect with Bree Street which is a one way to the East, continue straight. The next set of traffic lights intersects with Jeppe Street which is a one way to the West. Turn right into Jeppe and continue straight until you get to the traffic lights under the highway at the intersection of Henry Nxumalo. Turn left here into Henry Nxumalo and continue straight. You will pass the under ground parking at No.1 Central Place on your left, this is also available for Bassline parking. Then No 10 Henry Nxumalo will be on your left. This is open air parking.

Getting to the Nelson Mandela Bridge...

Heading South (away from Pretoria towards the Inner City) along Jan Smuts Ave you will come to a major intersection at Jan Smuts and Empire (KPMG will be on your right, The Star Graffiti Wall will be on your left.) Continue straight through this intersection and up the hill into Braamfontein. At the top of the hill Wits University will be on your right. Carry on straight, this road becomes Bertha and will take you straight over the Nelson Mandela Bridge...

Continue straight through this intersection and up the hill into Braamfontein. At the top of the hill Wits University will be on your right. If you miss the Jan Smuts off ramp, don't panic! Take the next off ramp, Empire Road off ramp. When you get to the traffic lights turn left into Empire Road (KPMG will be on your left). Get into the far right hand lane. At the next set of traffic lights turn right into Jan Smuts and continue up the hill into Braamfontein. At the top of the hill Wits University will be on your right. Carry on straight, this road becomes Bertha and will take you straight over the Nelson Mandela Bridge...
